Should I consolidate my student loans with the government?
I'm with two lenders (Sallie Mae and ACS) and would like to simplify my payment process. I keep getting letters from them about consolidating my loans with the federal government to lock in my rate. Is it worth it? Will I finish ACS paying less, more, or about the same? has been an absolute pain to work and their reminder service by email is difficult, at best, so I would like away from them if possible.
You are only able to consolidate your student loans once, so if you only strengthen insurance that we will not return to an additional degree. That said, it's a good idea to consolidate their loans because it can only make a payment to a creditor on a specific type.
