we hear this company will get our loan modified to fit our budget and to avoid foreclosure.. but they sound too good to be true… anybody know of a company that we can trust?

Loan modification – scams?
Looking into a loan modification on my mortgage but wary of scams reported on the news recently. Has anyone heard of United Liberty Home Advisors or Grander Financial?

Look them up with the BBB. That will give you an idea. You might also want to do a search for law suits against them. But most scams are new, you will not find anything, they change names often to make it appear that they are clean. Do not use them unless you actually find data that shows they are the real deal.

Loan Modification Scams, asking for money upfront…?
Doesn’t seem like the right thing to ask for the compensation upfront for services that have no guarantee to work, does it?
Anyone with solid information on loan modifications, please post.

90% of the companies are scams.
The loan sharks in another hat.
You can do this yourself, it is not hard. I am and have helped several people. Call your mortgage company and ask them to send you a modifications package. You will receive some forms to fill out and a list of documents they need.
Expect to fax it at least 3 times, they can’t seem to keep the paper together, but you will be assigned a person at the company to help you with this.
